The superficial integration of immigrants and refugees into an existing society is not our mission. Our focus is rather on establishing an immigration-based regional identity for the Meuse-Rhine Euregio, characterised by its cultural diversity and collective commitment.
The additional Training of skilled workers and volunteers is aimed at allowing new immigrants and refugees to develop their own independent skills. The goal is to strengthen their potential and promote their competencies.
The TREE project will be implemented in the following steps:
1. Analysis of the requirements
Context analysis and inventory of currently available trainings and competencies of persons working with fugitives on a full-time or voluntary basis. Definition of a competence reference system, implementation of a strengths/weaknesses analysis and a survey of the priority training requirements of the practitioners in the sub-regions.
Not only will formal qualifications be considered but also informally acquired competencies.
2. Development of a training programme
The development of a concept for a differentiated modular training programme based on the identified requirements and the Euregional conditions. A variety of active teaching methods will be integrated into the training programme, including online offerings.
Implementation of the training programme in the sub-regions with the involvement of the main stakeholders. This includes facilities for the reception and care of refugees as well as further-education facilities aimed at providing linguistic and professional qualifications. During the training programme, attention should be paid to a balanced ratio of full-time and volunteer staff.
The organisation of dialogue events in the sub-regions aimed at positively influencing the exchange between refugees and the local Population.
4. Analysis, optimisation
Feedback from the institutions and immigrants will be requested following the completion of the first training programme. The programme content will be revised on the basis of this feedback.
5. Dissemination and implementation
Dissemination and implementation At the end of the project, the training programme will be presented to the general public. The project results will be presented via the public media of the participating institutions as well as at regional and national events related to this area of work. The training programme should be integrated as a permanent module of the programmes offered by the participating institutions and other educational institutions.
Project quality management will be carried out externally by the inpuncto: pfaender & team GmbH in Cologne (www.inpuncto-pfaender.de) research institute.
